Abstract
This article is the result of the Business
Research Project: Community, environmental
and health education in order to mitigate the
effects of global warming in coastal areas of
Manzanillo, from the Department of Biology -
Geography of the Blas Roca Calderío
Campus. A descriptive study was carried out
in the educational institution ESBU Hermanos
Martínez Tamayo located in the coastal zone.
It was developed in a period between 2020
and 2022, with the purpose of solving the
detected insufficiencies, educational actions
related to environmental and health education
are proposed. To obtain and analyze data, the
theoretical method analysis and synthesis of
different sources was used, based on logical
thought processes; modeling allowed to
determine and design educational actions. As
an empirical method, a survey with a total of 9
questions was used with the objective of
verifying the level of knowledge of the
students about climate change, main causes
and effects in the population. In data
processing, descriptive statistics were used
through absolute numbers and percentages, as
well as qualitative analysis of the collected
data. The educational actions consisted of:
Assembly of an exhibition, preparation of
murals, commemoration of environmental
events, cleaning days in the school
environment and the coast, analysis of
sentences, presentation of the Education and
Climate Change website, preparation and
presentation of brochures, conferences,
brochure of environmental events, information
sheets and advisory actions. Substantial
changes were appreciated in the students in
terms of knowledge of environmental and
health education issues and the transformation
of the modes of action in practice both in the
educational institution and in the community.
The educational actions carried out evidenced
the advantages in pedagogical practice, since
they enabled the participation of students in
school and community projects, which
favored both their autonomy and responsible
and supportive attitudes, based on the
development of skills, knowledge, attitudes
and aptitudes.

Sumário
Este artigo é resultado do Projeto de Pesquisa
Empresarial: Educação comunitária, ambiental
e sanitária para mitigar os efeitos do
aquecimento global nas zonas costeiras de
Manzanillo, do Departamento de Biologia -
Geografia do Campus Blas Roca Calderío. Foi
realizado um estudo descritivo na instituição
educacional ESBU Hermanos Martínez
Tamayo localizada na zona costeira. Foi
desenvolvido num período compreendido entre
2020 e 2022, com o objetivo de colmatar as
insuficiências detetadas, propõem-se ações
educativas relacionadas com a educação
ambiental e sanitária. Para obtenção e análise
dos dados, utilizou-se o método teórico de
análise e síntese de diferentes fontes, baseado
em processos de pensamento lógico; a
modelagem permitiu determinar e projetar
ações educativas. Como método empírico foi
utilizado um inquérito com um total de 9
questões com o objetivo de verificar o nível de
conhecimento dos alunos sobre as alterações
climáticas, principais causas e efeitos na
população. No tratamento dos dados, utilizou-
se estatística descritiva por meio de números
absolutos e percentuais, bem como análise
qualitativa dos dados coletados. As ações
educativas consistiram em: Montagem de
exposição, preparação de murais,
comemoração de eventos ambientais, jornadas
de limpeza no ambiente escolar e no litoral,
análise de sentenças, apresentação do site
Educação e Mudanças Climáticas, elaboração e
apresentação de brochuras, conferências ,
folheto de eventos ambientais, fichas
